- More grid lines to make it easier to precisely position clips and MIDI notes.
- Added velocity mouse tool in the MIDI clip editor.

### Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue in the MIDI clip editor, where notes would appear in totally wrong positions after changing the project tempo.
- Fixed an issue in the MIDI clip editor, where individually muted notes were not greyed out.
- Fixed an issue where adjusting the start of a MIDI note would make the note very long.
- Fixed an issue in the Simple Sampler where the timing of notes was noticeably off, when using a large buffer size.
- Fixed an issue where Simple Synth's oscillators would always restore to the Saw waveform regardless of the saved state.

## Version 1.2.4 - October 2025
### New reverb
- A new, enhanced Reverb effect has been added.
- It features classic reverb sounds like plate, room, hall and shimmer.
- You can control the length of the tail and make the tail darker or brighter with the Tone knob.
- The old reverb has been renamed to "Reverb (Legacy)".

### Improved plugin scanning
- Plugins are now scanned automatically, whenever you install new plugins or update existing ones.
- Scanning is done in a separate process, so that crashing plugins won't crash the whole application. It also means that
  scanning happens in the background.
- You can still manually manage your plugins in the plugin manager window. On Windows, click Manage plugins in the File
menu. On Mac, click Manage plugins in the Carl Martin Studio menu.

### Loop section
- The loop section is now shown as a bar above the playhead.
- Clicking the bar toggles looping.
- Dragging the bar moves the whole loop section.
- Dragging the edges changes the start/end of the loop.
- You can also click-and-drag outside the bar to start the loop section elsewhere.

### Colours
- Colour selector has been redesigned.
- Tracks can now have a colour. You can set this by right-clicking the track header.
- Clips created or recorded into a coloured track will adopt the track colour.
- Clips still keep their colour when moved to other tracks.
- If you like the clips to always be coloured with the track colour, no matter what, you can opt in for this behaviour in the Preferences window.

### Miscellaneous
- Zooming now ignores the playhead position if it's out of sight.
- MIDI Recording: Fixed an issue where notes would appear stuck or get lost if playing fast on the keyboard.
- Plugin presets are now sorted alphabetically.
- Fixed an issue where it was seemingly possible to add effects to the chord track.
- Fixed an issue preventing MIDI-only projects from being exported to audio.

## Version 1.1.6 - September 2025

- Fixed an issue on Mac where the app failed to ask for mic permission resulting in no audio input.

## Version 1.1.5 - May 2025

### Improved level meters

- We have made the following changes to make it easier to see when your audio is clipping:
    - Output meters now have a yellow or red marker that shows if the audio level exceeds the maximum.
    - The marker on the master track meter is red. If this shows, your song may sound distorted when exported (unless
      you export with normalisation enabled).
    - The marker on the other tracks is yellow as it won't affect the sound.
    - Input meters on audio tracks will turn red if the input is too loud.
    - The markers will stick until you click them. Clicking one of them resets all meters.
    - TIP: Use the Limiter effect plugin on the master track. This ensures that the output won't clip.

### Auto-saving

- Projects are now auto-saved after each recording and every 2 minutes. This means that even if the application crashes,
you can restore your project to the latest autosaved version.

### Tools

- Added pencil tool in the arranger view. It adds an empty MIDI clip when clicking on a MIDI track. MIDI clips can still
be added as usual by right-clicking a MIDI track.

### Bug fixes

- Fixed an issue where existing clips would be audible when recording over them.

## Version 1.1.4 - May 2025
### Miscellaneous
- Tuner: Added an in-tune marker.
- Track volume fader: Make the fader slightly transparent, so it's easier to see the volume level in situations where it's right underneath.
- Help menu: Add option for showing the latest changes to the application.

### Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue where a clip was not selected when adjusting its fade-in/fade-out.
- Added some missing Danish translations.
- Mac: Fixed an issue where the main menu was not updated when changing the language.

## Version 1.1.3 - April 2025
### Export dialog
- Added two different modes for choosing the time range to export: Automatic (exports the whole song including any audio tail), Loop Range Only (allows for manually specifying the range by using the loop locators).
- Added option for trimming silence in the Loop Range mode.
- Added option for opening the file in Explorer/Finder after export. Useful when you want to hear your song right away.
- Added option for automatically generating a unique filename, so a previous export isn't overwritten.
- Added tooltips to all settings.
- Added some more space between UI components for a more relaxed feeling.
- Split output folder and file name into separate fields. The rationale being that you're rarely changing the folder, but often just want to rename the file. Please, let us know if you would prefer another workflow!

### Zooming
- Zoom in/out using the toolbar buttons now uses the center instead of the playhead as fix point if the playhead is outside the view.

### Miscellaneous
- Added option to show the exported audio file in Finder/Explorer after exporting.
- Playhead can now not be dragged to a position before bar 1.
- Piano roll/midi clip editor: Added default shortcut key (Q) for toggling quantisation.

### Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue where the project would play out loud during exporting resulting in buggy audio files.
- Fixed an issue where custom shortcut keys could be scrambled during app updates. NB: To fix this we had to wipe all custom key commands that you may have saved up until now. It was not possible to reliably keep them.
- Fixed an issue where tooltips wouldn't show in extra windows (e.g. preferences window).

## Version 1.1.2 - April 2025
### Miscellaneous
- Added bug report button to toolbar. This is a shortcut for Help -> Report a bug.
- Added shortcut keys for mouse tools.

### Bug fixes
- Zoom in/out using the toolbar buttons now use the playhead as fix point. Zooming with mouse wheel is still fixed on the mouse cursor.
- When adding instrument plugin on midi track, the plugin editor wasn't opened automatically. This is now fixed.
- Enabling quantisation in the piano roll now sets the note value to 1/16 instead of "-" (nothing), which didn't really make much sense.

## Version 1.1.1 - March 2025
### Windows installer
- Optionally launch Carl Martin Studio after installation (on by default).

### Reverb
- Changed colours and knobs for looks and better readability

### Keyboard shortcuts
- Added more keyboard shortcuts (L = loop, C = click/metronome, T = tuner, K = virtual keyboard, Ctrl+D = duplicate track, etc.).
- Go to Preferences -> Shortcut keys to see the full list and add/change shortcuts to suit your needs.

### Pattern browser updates
- Preview chord can now be changed by clicking the settings icon. This allows you to listen to the selected pattern over different chords.

### Bug fixes
- Show a warning message if trying to play or record without an audio device. Before the play button would turn green, but nothing would happen.
- Better error messages in audio settings panel.
- Fixed a mac issue where VST3 plugins failed to load

## Version 1.1.0 - January 2025
### New filter plugin
- Added a new effect called "Auto Filter" in the FX category
- It can be set to low-pass, high-pass or band-pass
- An LFO can modulate cutoff frequency and rate can be synced to tempo for rhythmic effects
- It also features an envelope follower that can be used to create auto-wah effects
